Blacklake Golf Resort, Nipomo
Located between Santa Maria and Pismo Beach, Blacklake Golf Resort is the Central Coast’s only 27-hole golf resort. Chalk Mountain Golf Course, Atascadero
Chalk Mountain Golf Course is a well-established and beautifully maintained, 18-hole course, which creates an easy-going atmosphere. The hilly course has many oak trees lining its narrow fairways with six holes that feature creekside play. If you are feeling adventurous, add a new level of fun to your game by “surfing the earth” with fully electric GolfBoards that will allow you to zip from hole to hole.
Cypress Ridge Golf Course, Arroyo Grande
Cypress Ridge is as challenging as it is beautiful. Designed by Peter Jacobsen, this 18-hole course in South County embraces the natural surroundings of the area to make this course unique. This award-winning course offers lush green fairways lined with mature cypress trees and breathtaking ocean views, making it a golfers’ paradise.
Dairy Creek Golf Course, San Luis Obispo
Dairy Creek Golf Course is a links course with an accompanying driving range, located at El Chorro Regional Park between San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay. This 18-hole course is known for incredible elevation changes and forced carries over water and rocky arroyos. Enjoy afternoon sea breezes that keep temperatures down and make it that much more challenging.
Hunter Ranch Golf Course, Paso Robles
Set amongst blue oaks, vineyards, and lakes, Hunter Ranch Golf Course is phenomenal. Laguna Lake Golf Course, San Luis Obispo
The Laguna Lake Municipal Golf Course is a ten-hole executive length golf course that offers a unique experience for the entire family. This course serves to be fun and challenging for beginners and accomplished golfers alike. Located only minutes from downtown San Luis Obispo, Laguna Lake Golf Course is rated one of the best-maintained layouts on the Central Coast.
Monarch Dunes, Nipomo
Monarch Dunes features both the award-winning championship “Old Course” as well as the newly opened 12-hole Challenge Course, both designed by Damian Pascuzzo & Steve Pate. Reminiscent of the links-style courses in Scotland, this is a “must-play” course near San Luis Obispo. Surrounded by windswept dunes, eucalyptus trees, and amber-colored hillsides, the Monarch Dunes offer an unforgettable golf experience.
Morro Bay Golf Course, Morro Bay
Morro Bay Golf Course is an inviting, spacious course with ocean views from every hole. Great for all levels of year-round play, this relatively affordable course has 2 9-hole courses. With a rich history dating back to 1923, the Morro Bay Golf Course is widely considered a “must play” among Central Coast golfers.
San Luis Obispo Country Club, San Luis Obispo
The San Luis Obispo Country Club has a beautiful 18-hole course on Country Club Drive in San Luis Obispo. White Pebble Beach sand and undulant greens are signature features of this distinguished course. From the Champion Tees, the course is 6,800 yards long with a rating of 77.8. Member Tees span 6,400 yards with a rating of 71.6 and ladies’ tees measure 5,800 yards.
Golf for All in SLO
For Junior Golfers, ages 7-17, the SLO County Junior Golf Association is the premier resource for junior tournaments and instructional camps in San Luis Obispo. The SLO Jr Golf Association coordinates spring and summer tournament series, where members pay only $20 for event entry fees. If you’d like to catch some professional golf in SLO, check out the Straight Down Fall Classic. Each year, the San Luis Obispo Golf and Country Club hosts this two-day Pro-Am competition, pairing PGA and Champions Tour players with top amateurs for a low-key and fan-engaging tournament experience.
